Ji-Ji-No-Ie

We promise a unique experience that connects deeply with your body, mind and spirit.

Welcome to a classic Japanese country living at our inn, Ji-Ji-No-Ie. Brown’s Field has created a unique space that offers not only relaxation for the body and mind, but also a luxurious experience embedded within traditional Japanese aesthetics to awaken your imagination and senses.
Thanks to our highly respected architects, carpenters and garderners, what was originally an old farmhouse, was given a new life with the use of natural materials around us such as straw, clay and bamboo. Look, feel and connect yourself with the elements of nature. Spend your time walking around sprawling rice paddies, or unwinding in our handcrafted Japanese hiba wood bath.

In the kitchen, Matinee Nakajima, our chef, prepares an elegant plant-based cuisine, which will not only captivate your eyes, but also nourishes your soul. Accompany your elegant meal with sake made only from the blessings of nature from natural sake breweries in Japan.

Our name, Ji-Ji-No-Ie, suggests a deep harmonious and symbiotic relationship between man and nature. It is our wish that each guest experiences a sense of returning home to nature, and leaves with a sense of connection with their body, mind and spirit.

Matinee Nakajima, Chef & Manager

Born in 1986, Matinee was raised on a macrobiotic diet since she was a baby. Prior to her position at Ji-Ji-No-Ie, she received her training at several establishments including French & Japanese restaurants, vegan cafes and most recently, a well-known kaiseki inn from the age of 18. Based on what she learned from the inn, she has developed an original plant-based cuisine using local seasonal produce and handmade fermented seasonings.
