About Us

Brown’s Field is a sustainable community that practices biodynamic farming. We also run a vegan macrobiotic cafe, a Japanese-style country inn, and an earthen cottage for our visitors. Set amongst rice fields and located close to the Pacific Ocean, Brown’s Field is a peaceful environment to come and heal, and experience the traditions of Japanese farmhouse living. We are situated in Isumi City, which is easily accessible from Tokyo. The city is in harmony with nature, and has a thriving agricultural and fishing industry.

We invite you to come experience a self-sufficient life that connects you more deeply with the land and the community. We live in harmony with the cycles of nature, which can be felt in our daily tasks.  

We grow, cook, and preserve our food using traditional Japanese methods. We also support other local farmers by buying their produce. We believe in living in a way that is healing not only for ourselves, but also for our community and the earth. Come enjoy the activities and Japanese festivities that change with the seasons.
